Family personal protection dog course
Family personal protection dog courses
For individuals of good character we are pleased to now offer a very special service. Your safety and that of your family are of course the most important things in the world. Firearms in the home provide an illusion of security for you. The fact is that it is more difficult than you think to shoot another human being, even when you pull the trigger the adrenaline surging through your body causes the majority of rounds to miss and always in the back of your mind are the doubts “Am I justified? Will I end up in Jail for an unlawful death”?
It really is nothing like the movies. Guns in the home present a constant danger to the occupants, a gun can be taken from you and used against you, it can be mistaken for a toy by children with tragic consequences. A gun will not alert you to the presence of intruders outside before entry, a bullet will not divert from its trajectory to chase an assailant around a corner ….
…A family protection dog offers true security, constantly alert to the onset of danger he is your eyes and ears while you sleep or are away from your home. He cannot be used against you, he will not miss his target and he will defend you with his very life. He is your companion, your friend, your loyal servant and your protector.
The Family protection dog course will teach you everything you need to know about the law and your actions, making statements, giving evidence … justifying your use of force in any scenario. It will teach your dog to bark and detain, bite and hold, to leave when told, your control will be absolute, your decision making processes will be as clear as your conscience.
This is not a course to be played at, this is real dog handling with real consequences with instruction from a real Police K9 veteran who knows exactly what it like to deploy a dog against a human being and to justify its use to a court later. This training requires absolute obedience and control.
We don’t sell trained protection dogs, you provide your choice of dog (with advice from us where necessary) and we will train it together so you know what to do, how to do it and when.

Narcotics detection course
We are proud to announce the imminent commencement of our Narcotics detection course.
Dogs have a built in need to work, excess energy is a huge contributory factor to boredom and misbehavior in the home and this course may be the answer to all your problems!
Not all dogs are suited to this type of very specialized activity so below are a few frequently asked questions …
“Is my dog suitable for this training?”
If your dog has a high “play drive” - a love of a toy to the point where he or she will search for it if it is lost in long grass then, yes.
” How old does my dog need to be?”
To begin the training we will be looking for dogs over 8 months old.
” How long is the course?”
The course will run in modules 1. Basic search patterns and theory 2. Evidence presentation & Cannabis 3. Advanced search & Cocaine 4. Heroin and LSD. Each module will run for 4 weeks - This is an intensive course that will lead to certification and a potential income. A “bolt on” advanced search techniques course unavailable anywhere else in the USA is available for suitable candidates and as a stand alone course for Law Enforcement personnel.
“How long is each session?”
Each session will be of 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours duration - practice in your own time will also be required but will be of huge benefit to you and your dog in satisfying their need to channel their energy
“What happens at the end of my modules?”
Successful dogs will be certified and able to conduct searches for narcotics and may make themselves available for paid searches of schools, private homes (at the request of the owners) etc.
“Do I need to re-certify?”
Re-certification will take place for dogs wishing to conduct live searches every 6 months
“Is it expensive?”
narcotics detection courses typically cost around $10,000 - $20,000. At Pawfection we are committed to quality training at realistic affordable prices. Each module will cost $250, that is a tenth of the cost of anywhere else … and that is from a REAL Police dog handler with REAL experience, not a civilian trainer with internet qualifications and no experience in a live environment.
“Why is it so cheap?”
Because we believe that it does not cost $10,000 to train a search dog. With quality instruction and hard work on the part of the owner excellent standards can be achieved without the need to pay huge unnecessary training fees. We believe that in these difficult economic times the joy of actually working a dog shouldn’t be open only to the rich and Law enforcement.
“Why would a school employ a civilian handler and not a Police Officer?”
Schools may not wish a student discovered with narcotic substance to automatically enter the judicial system, there are often underlying reasons that would be better dealt with on a more informal basis. A Police Officer conducting a search is DUTY BOUND to act if anything is found whereas civilian handlers are able to pass responsibility to faculty staff or parents.
This is real dog handling, this course will be the most rewarding thing you will ever do with your dog, all you need is perseverance, tenacity, a willingness to learn and a desire to make a difference in people’s lives.
Drugs destroy lives …. be a part of the solution …

Imitation is the highest form of flattery!
Here at Pawfection we aim to be innovative, flexible, fun and professional. We know that the training our students receive is the very best available anywhere in the world and yet affordable to all. Our success was bound to attract attention and we are pleased that several other training establishments in Central Florida have found it necessary to visit our training with a view to attempt to steal the magic formula that makes Pawfection such a success. We are flattered that you have taken time out of your no doubt busy schedules to check us out but please … don’t be strangers, pretending to be interested students or trainers from companies other than your own is just a little sad. We understand your desire to learn how to be proper instructors and the “secret” of our continuing success but it really isn’t a secret at all, it all comes down to an experienced, qualified trainer, a genuine care for our customers, a committment to provide quality, affordable training for all and good old fashioned honesty - So now you know! …. Providing it however is another matter and sadly outside of your ability. We are judged by our customers not our rivals and it seems we must be doing something right as the former are very happy and the latter very threatened. Pawfection students, the good news is that we are here for you … and we’re here to stay!

Improvised water rescue
My daughter’s service dog (hearing assist) is seen here carrying out a pool rescue on her using a slip leash and water bottle. This took about 20 minutes to teach from scratch - At Pawfection dog training USA we achieve the impossible straight away (miracles can take up to an hour)

Dog years …. the myths
The idea that 1 human year equals 7 years for a dog is a myth …. The idea came from the fact that the average lifespan of a dog was once around 10 years whilst a human lived to 70 but there is no simple numerical relationship between dog and human years.
The stages of life for the dog can be seen below;
Birth to 6 months = Pre school child
6 to 18 months = Troublesome teen stage
18 months to 7 years = At their fittest
7 years to 9 years = Middle age
Over 9 years = Old age
13 to 18 years = joint and internal organ problems most likely
My favourite ages …. 4, 5 and 6 (these are without doubt the best years)
